Crittenden County VINE Coverage
Kentucky uses the national VINELink service and statewide Kentucky VINE. The Kentucky Attorney General's VINE information and corrections sources say the feed draws from county jail booking systems and adult correctional facilities, plus some additional covered facilities. That makes it useful for both Crittenden County Detention Center custody and a Kentucky Department of Corrections record.
The same person may have two entries. One can represent the local jail booking while another represents KDOC custody. If Crittenden County releases a state prisoner to KDOC, the local record can report release even though the person remains confined under the state entry. Both identity, facility, event, and date must be read before calling it community release.
The Crittenden County jail roster answers a different question. It shows who is listed in local custody now. Kentucky VINE can add an agency event and notification, while the jail release sheet supplies the precise local disposition and destination. The court file can then explain bond, dismissal, probation, time served, or another judicial basis. These sources overlap, but none fully replaces the others.
VINE does not replace the Federal Bureau of Prisons locator, the ICE detainee locator, a federal docket, or a U.S. Marshals record. Crittenden County houses a mixed population, including some federal prisoners, but that does not expand VINE into a federal locator. Start by identifying the legal custodian.
| Custody path | VINE role | Confirm with |
|---|---|---|
| Crittenden jail | Participating local status and release event | Jail booking/release sheet and court order |
| Kentucky corrections | KDOC custody, supervision, and event notice | KOOL, Daily Releases, and KDOC record |
| Federal or immigration | Not a substitute locator | BOP, ICE, PACER, or USMS as applicable |
Search Crittenden County VINE Records
Use enough detail to separate the right person without overrelying on a photograph. A partial name or offender ID can begin the search. Compare location and identifiers before selecting a result. A spelling difference, alias, data delay, transfer, restricted record, or separate agency entry can explain why the first search fails.
- Open VINELink and choose Kentucky.
- Select “Find an Offender,” then enter a partial name or offender ID.
- Review every likely match. Compare the displayed identity and facility.
- Open the local jail record and the DOC record if both appear.
- Read custody status and released date in the context of that record's agency.
- If the match remains uncertain, use the phone service at 1-800-511-1670 or confirm with the agency.
A current record can provide a facility address and telephone number. Kentucky's Attorney General states that a person no longer in custody will have the date released. That date belongs to the specific VINE record. It does not by itself answer whether another jail, KDOC, USMS, ICE, or a court hold took custody next.
The broader identity and release path is available through the Crittenden County released inmate search. It combines the live JailTracker check with the booking/release sheet, Kentucky courts, KOOL, Daily Releases, and custody-specific federal tools.
Crittenden County VINE Release Fields
Read the event label as written. Kentucky VINE separates events that are often blurred in casual speech. “Advanced Release” is advance notice of a scheduled event. Home incarceration carries electronic monitoring. A parole event signals release under supervision. A return-to-custody event points in the opposite direction.
| Field or event | What it means |
|---|---|
| Custody status | Whether the selected agency record shows confinement or release |
| Facility | The jail or institution tied to that entry, sometimes with contact details |
| Release date | The date that selected record reports the person left its custody |
| DOC Parole Notification | A KDOC release on parole, with supervision still in effect |
| DOC Release by Court Order | A release tied to judicial authority, subject to any other hold |
| DOC Shock Probation | A court-ordered move from confinement to probation |
| DOC Home Incarceration | Community placement with electronic monitoring, not unrestricted liberty |
KDOC also defines DOC Advanced Release as a scheduled release approaching within fourteen days. A future event can change. DOC Return to Custody records renewed confinement, while post-incarceration supervision can apply under Kentucky law to a qualifying person. Use the exact term rather than replacing every event with “released.”
Note: A VINE release date proves an exit from that record's custodian, not freedom from every court order, detainer, or supervision term.

The official VINELink interface begins with the state and person-search flow, then offers notification controls on a matching record.
The captured screen helps identify the correct official service. Continue into Kentucky and match the individual record before selecting “Notify Me of Status Changes.”
Set Crittenden County Release Alerts
Registration follows the person and record selected, so identity review comes first. Kentucky describes the registration as confidential or anonymous, and the monitored person is not told. Phone and email options can be offered by the service. Phone alerts require a four-digit personal identification number, or PIN, to acknowledge the call.
- Select the correct local jail or KDOC record.
- Choose “Notify Me of Status Changes.”
- Enter a telephone number and/or email address as prompted.
- Create a four-digit PIN for telephone alerts.
- When an automated call arrives, enter the PIN to acknowledge it and stop repeats.
- If a call is missed, review the registration in VINELink or contact KDOC Victim Services.
- Register on both records when a local jail and a DOC record coexist.
Kentucky sources describe local-jail release calls repeating about every thirty minutes for up to twenty-four hours, or until acknowledgment. For a scheduled state-prison release, notice may be attempted roughly seventy-two hours ahead. A court order, sudden credit change, parole action, or emergency can leave little advance time.
Keep the PIN private and memorable. Entering it tells the phone system that the notice was received, which ends repeat calls for that registration. A voicemail alone may not acknowledge the notice. If the number or email changes, return to the service and update the registration before the event is expected. Notification depends on the contact details supplied and the source agency's data.
The telephone search and registration route is 1-800-511-1670. KDOC Victim Services can also be reached at 502-564-5061 or 877-687-6818. These contacts support notification questions. The jail or corrections custodian remains the source for the underlying release record.
Two Crittenden County VINE Records
The KDOC VINE FAQ specifically warns that one person may have a local jail record and a DOC record. It advises checking and registering for both. This is especially important at Crittenden County Detention Center because the jail holds local, state, other-county, and federal prisoners. The word “release” can describe a handoff between custodians.
Suppose the local record changes to released while the DOC record lists a state facility. The consistent reading is release from Crittenden County's physical custody and continued state custody. If KOOL later shows parole and VINE reports DOC Parole Notification, that is a different event. A booking/release sheet can identify the receiving agency and settle the first handoff.
For an ordinary bond-out, KOOL may have no record at all. Check the jail release entry and Crittenden court file instead. For a federal prisoner, a VINE local event may mark transfer back to federal authority. Follow the destination through BOP, PACER, or USMS records as applicable.
Important: Register for each valid record and treat each alert as an agency-specific custody event, not an automatic statement of community release.
Confirm Crittenden County VINE Alerts
On February 3, 2026, a vendor incident caused false Kentucky VINE release alerts. KDOC's VINE information page documented the problem and identified the actual releases during the outage. That event gives Crittenden County users a concrete reason to corroborate a notice, even when the name and record appear correct.
First, check whether the person remains on the official Crittenden JailTracker roster. Absence is only a clue. Next, call the detention center at 270-965-3185 and ask whether the named booking closed and what public disposition or destination is shown. For a KDOC subject, read KOOL status and search the dated KDOC Daily Releases report. A court or DOC order may supply the legal authority.
Kentucky's VINEcourt service is no longer provided, according to KDOC information. Do not use VINE as a Crittenden court docket alert. Search the public KYeCourts guest system and request the actual file from the Crittenden Circuit Court Clerk when a bond, dismissal, sentence, probation, or release order matters.
A court order and a custody alert also answer different parts of the event. The order may authorize release, yet the jail still must process it and check other holds. VINE may report the later agency change, but the booking/release sheet is better for the local exit time and transfer destination. Compare all three when the timing matters.
Crittenden County VINE No-Results
No result is not proof of continued confinement, release, or the absence of a past booking. It can reflect spelling, an alias, a mismatched identifier, a reporting lag, an uncovered agency, a transfer, separate jail and DOC records, confidentiality, or lawful expungement. Search variants carefully, then move to the source agency.
Try a shorter form of the name and verify any offender number already known from a court or corrections record. Small input changes can expose the separate entry.
A person shown on the current JailTracker remains listed in local custody. A person absent from both systems needs a booking/release record and court check. A state prisoner belongs in KOOL and Daily Releases. A federal or immigration case requires the appropriate federal channel. Each system answers a narrower question than a complete release record.
Keep the source and capture date with any saved alert. Public interfaces can update after the event. When two records conflict, identify the conflict and ask the custodian instead of choosing the result that seems most convenient.
